2. Health Promotion

Mandatory periodic health checkups

In order to encourage improvement of health issues, all employees are required to undergo periodic health checkups, and employees who receive a re-examination diagnosis are required to undergo a re-examination within one month and thoroughly report the results to the company.
We also promote specific health guidance after specific health checkups in order to prevent and improve lifestyle-related diseases.

Raising health awareness through blood donation

As part of our social contribution activities since January 2023, our headquarters plant has been conducting blood donation during working hours by blood donation bus. This initiative was initiated at the suggestion of an employee, and many employees participated for the first time when it was first implemented.
Since blood donation involves not only the donation of blood but also blood tests, we will continue to conduct blood drives on a regular basis to raise employee health awareness through blood donation.

Introduced "N-NOSE®" for early detection of cancer risk

N-NOSE® is a service that utilizes nematodes to determine the risk of cancer.
Since cancer patients have a unique smell that healthy people do not have, the risk of cancer can be easily determined by examining the reaction to urine of "nematodes," which are thought to be able to discriminate between odors.
We have concluded a corporate contract and introduced the system at partial cost to those who wish to use it.

Infection Prevention Initiatives

Half of the cost of influenza shots is covered for all employees.

Holding breast cancer seminars

A special lecturer from an insurance company was invited to hold a "Breast Cancer Seminar" for female employees.
About 60 employees, including online, attended the event to learn about the incidence of breast cancer, the causes of its increase, and the types and characteristics of cancer tests.
We will continue to hold regular seminars to learn about various diseases and other topics to improve employees' knowledge and awareness of health.

(Held from February 2023)

Past Implementation

February 2025
Do you know Japan?

February 11 is National Day.
Although there are days to commemorate the founding of nations all over the world, few Japanese people seem to know what National Day is compared to people around the world.

The Japanese Imperial Family is the oldest royal family in the world.
And as for the founding of the country, it is based on the history books written in the Kojiki and Nihonshoki.

The instructor introduced the first part of the Kojiki, and we learned that Japanese gods have a very human side. We learned that the story of the gods led to the story of the first Emperor Jinmu.

On January 1, while it is still dark, His Majesty the Emperor performs a ritual called the Shiho Worship. At this time, he prays that all misfortunes will befall him and that the people will be happy. This is the same as the parental love.
No matter what kind of person you are, it is precious to have a presence that wishes you happiness.
I wanted to call the ancient history of the world.

January 2025
What directs "people power

Morality in form (behavior) is important, but what is more important is the heart. (With what kind of heart?)

The story of three bricklayers, "What do you do for a living?"

(The first bricklayer)
I'm laying bricks under the direction of my master, it's tough and hard work, and I want to quit now.

(Second bricklayer)
I work hard and brick by brick to support my family because it's hard work but it pays the bills.

(The third bricklayer)
We are building a magnificent cathedral wall. I look forward to many people coming to see it and rejoice.

The first was a job I hated, the second was for money, and the third was for everyone's happiness.
Even in the same job, job satisfaction varies depending on the heart of the worker.

The important thing is to be mindful. (What kind of heart do we give?) (What kind of heart do you cultivate?

The instructor's mother said, It is not so difficult to add oshokoro to morality.
When parting, "Thank you very much." with a hearty "Please take care.

At the office, "Good day, sir." to "Thank you for today" and "Have a safe trip home," and you will have a happy future.
It is your own mind that creates happiness and unhappiness
That is the purpose of learning morality.

September 2024
A Lifelong Learning Experience
What is the purpose of learning?
Textbooks in the Meiji era were full of moral values.
We learn to change the way we think.

Workshop (experience Hiromi Wada's "Life was good karuta")
Turn negative events in the medical record into "Good! to "Good!

Example.)
I'm glad I greeted you and you ignored me.
→ I realized that my voice is not loud enough.
→ I realized how little I exist. Let's shine brighter!
I'm glad I was caught in the lie.
Oh," I'm glad no one noticed me when I dressed up.
The four participants enjoyed working in groups of four to come up with ideas such as the following.

What is the purpose of learning morality?
It is "to acquire the ability to make the most of life and to be happy."

We don't want to raise "happy children," but rather, we want to raise children who will be happy no matter what circumstances they find themselves in.
I want to raise a child who can be happy. (Empress Michiko, the Queen Mother)

To look for the "good" in any negative event is
It is an admirable moral to oneself.
Make yourself, yourself, happy first.

Encourage smoking cessation and pay for outpatient smoking cessation services

Except for designated outdoor smoking areas, smoking is prohibited in company buildings, factories, and other premises, as well as in company vehicles. For smokers, the company pays part of the costs associated with treatment at an outpatient smoking cessation clinic.
The Company also held a "No Smoking Promotion Month" with the aim of reducing the smoking rate among employees. (October 2023)

App-based health management recommendations

We recommend the use of the health management application "Kokokara Diary" (*), which allows users to record 10 items of health data, including the three elements that support good health: exercise, diet, and sleep, and to conduct self-checks of their stress status. We use periodic stress checks and a step count ranking function to promote exercise. *Provided by MSI

In addition, employees who reach the monthly step count target (150,000 steps) are given coupons of an amount corresponding to the number of steps they have taken, in cooperation with our food shopping site "Kyushu Oyakase Honpo". This has increased the amount of daily exercise among employees and greatly improved their awareness of the importance of exercise.

Use of gymnasium for employee benefit services

In cooperation with Benefit One Inc., a welfare benefit agency service company, members can use sports gyms and leisure facilities at member rates. The benefits are also available for family members.

Organize in-house social events

The company plans a variety of events throughout the year.
With the aim of enhancing motivation and communication at work and in private life, through recreational activities, we encourage interaction with sales offices, other departments, and family members with whom we usually have few opportunities to engage in face-to-face activities.

Supporting Healthy Eating Habits

In an effort to supplement vegetables and nutrients that are often in short supply, we have installed convenience store vending machines and snack vending corners within the company, selling salads, vegetable juices, cereal bars, balanced nutrition foods, low-calorie foods, and other items to support healthy eating habits among our employees.

3. Health management and accident prevention on the job

Elimination of long overtime work

The company has declared its commitment to reforming its work style and aims to create a system that allows employees to work long hours without overtime through improving the efficiency of its operations.
We have established a specialized organization within the company and are actively using RPA (robot-assisted work automation) and other work improvement tools to improve work efficiency and reduce long working hours.
In particular, every Wednesday is a "No Overtime Day" where employees are encouraged to leave the office on time.

Elimination of long overtime work

Elimination of harassment

We have established a system to educate and reassign employees subject to power harassment and sexual harassment as necessary by providing internal and external consultation services for employees who have been victims of such harassment.
In addition, we are actively working to eliminate harassment, including power harassment and sexual harassment, through ongoing internal educational activities and an evaluation system that prioritizes the physical and mental health of employees over the nature of their work.

Mental health support through a tutor system

Senior employees support new employees by acting as tutors.
By assigning a senior staff member who transcends the boundaries between operations, we support the mental health of employees who have just joined the company by providing a system that allows them to discuss "worries" that are difficult to confide in their superiors or close colleagues.

Accident Prevention in Factories

Based on 5S activities and employee observations and suggestions, we conduct periodic inspections of dangerous areas in factories and warehouses that are likely to lead to employee injuries, and make improvements as necessary.
In addition, employees working at the plant are encouraged to do radio calisthenics every morning to stretch their bodies and refresh their brains, which helps prevent injuries and accidents in the plant.

Accident Prevention in Factories

Raising awareness of safe driving

We are reporting on mandatory periodic checkups for sleep apnea syndrome (SAS), one of the causes of traffic accidents, and the number of days in which we have achieved zero traffic accidents, which we call the "Traffic Accident "0" Campaign".
In addition, we are striving to raise awareness of safe driving, especially among employees who frequently use company vehicles for sales and delivery, by sharing information on actual traffic accident cases within the company.

Reducing Health Risks at Printing Sites

Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) contained in printing inks have been reported to cause asthma, bronchitis, and other health problems.

Switching to non-VOC type inks is underway.
Introduction of VOC alarms for offset printing plants that can monitor VOC emissions using ultra-sensitive sensors.

4. Other Initiatives

Preserving the Health of Child Care

Since 2018, we have been operating Marushin International Nursery School, a corporate-led nursery school.
We provide sick child care and temporary child care services, and sick child care is available even if the child is not currently enrolled in the school.
In addition, when all elementary schools were closed due to infectious diseases, we have a system in place that allows preschoolers and elementary school students to come to work together, creating a stress-free work environment for employees raising children.

Internal dissemination of health information

In partnership with health experts and health care companies, we regularly disseminate health information through in-house newsletters.
In May 2021, a "Health Management Column" by Mr. Kuroki, a yoga instructor, and in July of the same year, seasonal health information provided by Kracie, a pharmaceutical food manufacturer, were published in the company newsletter to raise employees' health awareness.
