Press Release] Kurume City Purchases 100 Tons of CO2 Emission Credits from Tanushimaru Property District

We are pleased to announce that we have purchased "Kappa no Mori J-Credits", equivalent to CO2 emission credits, from Tanushimaru Property District, Kurume City. The amount of credits issued is 100t-CO2.

J-Credits is a system under which the government certifies the amount of greenhouse gas emission reductions and absorption through projects such as the installation of energy-saving equipment and forest management by companies and municipalities as "credits.

The Tanushimaru Property District of Kurume City is a special local public organization that owns and manages approximately 770 hectares of forest in the Minoh Mountain Range located in southern Fukuoka Prefecture, and is managed by Kurume Mayor Tsutomu Okubo. The property district has been selling "Kappa Forest J-Credits," which were certified and issued by the government in 2012 as part of the "Kurume City Tanushimaru Property District Thinning Promotion Project.

We are actively promoting the SDGs to realize a sustainable world, and we are also actively working on carbon zero to reduce greenhouse gas emissions such as CO2 emitted from our companies. We hope to accelerate these efforts by purchasing "Kappa-no-mori J-Credits" and contribute to local forest conservation and regional development by supporting Kurume City's project to promote tree thinning.
