Press Release】 "Fighting Spirit Award" in the Printing Category at the 46th WorldSkills Competition held in Switzerland.

 

We are pleased to announce that Hikaru Kaita, who represented Japan in the printing category of the 46th WorldSkills Competition (Special Edition) WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition, won the "Fighting Spirit Award.

 

The printing competition was held in Aarau, Switzerland, from October 12 for four days, with seven contestants from seven countries competing. Although we were not able to win a medal against a field of strong countries including France, the previous winner, and Switzerland, the host country, as well as Germany, China, and India, we were able to win the "Fighting Spirit" medal, finishing in 4th place, only one point behind the German competitor who finished in 3rd place.

On Monday, October 31, we plan to pay a courtesy visit to Mr. Haraguchi, the mayor of Kurume City, to report on the conference.

 

Kaita Hikaru Profile.
Hikaru Kaida. Born in Yanagawa City, graduated from Yame Technical High School, and represented Japan in the "Printing Division" of the 2022 WorldSkills Competition. He joined Marushin Co., Ltd. in 2017 and belongs to the Offset Printing Section, where he is a technician and printing operator.

 

■About the WorldSkills Competition (Printing Division)

The official name of the WorldSkills Competition is the WorldSkills Competition, which is held once every two years for young technicians under the age of 22 to compete in 61 skills competitions with representatives from various countries and regions around the world.

The "Printing Division" has been an official competition event since the 2007 Shizuoka Competition, and this will be the 8th time it has been held. The competition includes "offset printing," "digital printing," "print maintenance," "color mixing," and "cutting," and is based on evaluation points such as reproducibility of specified density, maintenance of printing presses, number of sheets printed, number of colors, and time.
Kaita won the national competition in 2020 and was selected to represent Japan. The international competition was held in Switzerland from October 12, after postponements and changes of venue due to the Corona disaster.
