BCP — Business Continuity Plan —
We would like to express our heartfelt sympathy to our customers who were affected by last month’s flooding, which primarily struck various areas of Kyushu. If there is anything we can do to help, please do not hesitate to let us know. We sincerely hope for a swift recovery.
We would also like to express our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused to some of our customers—albeit to a limited extent—due to delivery delays. Many customers expressed concern regarding our product supply, and while we took measures such as arranging alternative shipping methods and delivering goods to our Fukuoka Center via our own fleet after scheduled pickups were canceled, we regret that this resulted in delivery delays for a small number of customers. We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to the customers who cooperated with us in adjusting delivery schedules.
Given that torrential rain disasters—often described as “once-in-a-decade” events—are occurring almost every year, we have no choice but to acknowledge that our BCP (Business Continuity Plan) is inadequate.
In fact, regarding sticker printing and the manufacture of paper products and packaging, we have signed memorandums of understanding with several companies in the same industry throughout Japan to provide mutual manufacturing support in the event of a disaster. In the event of a disaster with long-term impacts, we can request these companies to take over production. However, it is also a reality that, in the case of sudden, short-term disruptions such as the one we are currently experiencing, we may cause you some inconvenience.
I believe the time has come to seriously consider not only further strengthening our headquarters factory but also diversifying our manufacturing locations. This will not be easy, nor can it be achieved overnight. However, to earn your trust as a manufacturer you can rely on with confidence, we will begin by taking the steps we can.
I humbly ask for your continued guidance, now more than ever.
