The path to the best label in the world
The long-sought "BEST OF THE BEST" label in the world was awarded at the World Label Contest.
Three years ago, the year after we won the METI Minister's Award, the first prize in Japan in a label contest, we were informed that we had won the "Grand Prize" and the "Best of the Best" in the World Label Contest with the same label. I was very nervous that there was a possibility of a false report this time as well.
As I wrote in the July issue, we had originally planned to enter a different label, but when that product plan disappeared and we had to decide on a moment's notice, he came up with a great idea, and that is the label that won the award this time.
In the first year of the 20th lunar month, the abdication and accession of His Majesty the Emperor was the talk of the world, and the Manyoshu, the oldest anthology of Japanese poetry, was the basis for the quotation of the year "2022.

Why not make a label with a motif of "fragrant" sake, using only thinly shaved wood as the base paper for the sticker (no bleaching), with an awareness of the SDGs, and with an awareness of the environment? When I heard this idea, I honestly thought it would be great: a mix of buzz, product matching, new technology, and new materials to create an amazing label! The label is made of wood, with a transparent white pattern on the moon and a base made of wood itself, so that each label is unique. The labels are the result of a lot of work, a lot of ingenuity, a lot of difficulty, and a lot of people's involvement.
The material was very difficult to use, because it cracked when the blade was cut or rolled a little too hard (T_T).
This wooden material is currently discontinued, but it will be renewed and re-released in the near future.
