With the downgrading of the long-running Corona disaster to Class 5, we have finally entered the full-fledged after-Corona era. Although the impact of inflation that still remains is not small, many foreigners can now be seen in all major cities and transportation systems, and we hope that the Japanese economy will also head in a positive direction.
Well, I have a happy report to share with you the other day. We have been developing a cloud-based order and supply system called "Kaientai" for some time now. (To be precise, we customized a package software.) Many of our customers in the food retail distribution industry are already using this system. Usually, in the packaging materials wholesale business, orders are received from customers by fax, etc., and the sales clerk enters the order, which generates a picking list at the warehouse, and the picker picks the items and delivers them by truck. With this kaientai, customers can order directly from their PCs or tablets at any time while checking the photos of the products, and can also look up past history. Since this is digital data from the beginning, there is no need for order entry on our side. We are proud of the simplicity and effectiveness of this system for both our customers and us. In fact, our system has been adopted by a competitor of ours. When we met with them at a meeting, they were having trouble with the system, so we provided them with information, they came to see the system, and after careful consideration, they adopted the system.
However, the basic operations of a wholesaler of packaging materials are not much different from any other wholesaler. Most of the products we handle also overlap with each other. Since we already have a large number of products registered with our company, we believe that they decided that it would be more feasible to start up vertically with us. This will also reduce our development costs. It is truly a win-win situation.
It is not only the system. In fact, some of our sales offices are already jointly operating a distribution warehouse with another competitor. Of course, we are in firm competition with these two companies in the field of sales, but we believe that it is also necessary in the future to work together where we should work together mainly behind the scenes.
