General paper has the disadvantage of being vulnerable to water. For packages of easily damaged food products such as marine products that are stored in large refrigerators and freezers, the temperature difference causes condensation, and the condensation causes the box to absorb water and become soft. This will spoil the aesthetics of the package and weaken its protective role. In such cases, we recommend water-resistant paper.

As a side note, ice cream boxes often use a varnish that makes only the outside water-resistant, since condensation only occurs on the outside. Water-resistant paper makes the best paper for packaging products that are affected by humidity both on the box, outside and inside. Upon closer examination, we found that water-resistant paper is often distributed in Hokkaido. So we negotiated with the base paper manufacturer.
